Mother and daughter team, Denise Kusey and Leah Kamppinen began showing Dobermans in the 1990’s. Denise made the business and show decisions, while Leah did the training and showing. Follow along as they tell their story:

Three Generations

We got our foundation bitch, BIS UKC Ch Bruda Here N There CGC TDI, along with excellent guidance, from Sandra Hunter of Bruda Dobermans. Our girl, Kona, was very showy and loved the ring. Leah had fun with her in Junior Showmanship, and put points on her including a couple of Breed wins. In UKC, Kona finished her championship with a Best In Show.

Our real fun began when we bought a red boy from Sandra. BIS Ch Bruda In A Red PT Cruiser was just 6 ½ months when he won a 5-point major, handled by Leah, at the competitive Doberman Pinscher Club of Greater Milwaukee Specialty in Waukesha, WI. In 2003, Cruiser received an Award of Merit at the DPCA Nationals also handled by Leah. Leah specialed Cruiser for a time, and he later went with new owner, Sato Sinichi. Cruiser soon won Best In Show and was in the Top Twenty.

We bred Kona to Ch Durke’s Bubba Just Moved In and got our lovely Ch Bruda Moonlight Over Paris. Paris was an easy finish, starting early by winning an All Breed Best In Show Puppy, exclusively handled by Leah. Paris was bred to Ch Bruda Ranger Of The Night, where we got our beautiful red girl, Ch Element Cajun Night. Cajun finished out of the Bred-By Class. We look forward to what the next generations will bring.
